IQNA – A forum titled “Imam Ali (AS) and the Holy Quran” was organized at the holy shrine of the first Shia Imam (AS) in Najaf, Iraq.

The Astan (custodianship) of the holy shrine held the event on behalf of the Alawi Islamic Studies Center, according to the website of the Astan. 

Naba al-Hamami, head of the center, said the forum was aimed at clarifying the strong and divine relation between Imam Ali (AS) and the Holy Quran.

A number of top scholars and researchers addressed the forum, he noted.

The discussed three main themes regarding the relation between Imam Ali (AS) and the Quran, he added.

Sheikh Shahid al-Baghdadi was one of the speakers, taking about Imam Ali (AS) in revelation and Quran interpretation, al-Hamami said.

He added that Sheikh Sadiq al-Zubaidi talked about the Quran in the thought of Imam Ali (AS) and Sheikh Qassem al-Khaqani’s speech featured the Mus’hafs of the Astan of Imam Ali (AS) holy shrine.
